If the operation is short (only a few minutes, while the main engine is running), the gas expansion will be adiabatic (no heat absorption by gas) and often is analyzed as isentropic (constant stagnation presure). The temperature of the gas will drop (the pressure and specific impulse will also drop) as the gas is consumed. For long intermittent operations (months or years in space) the heat from the spacecraft is transfered to the gas and the tank temperature stays essentially constant; the expansion will be nearly isothermal. An analysis of gas expansion is given in Section 6.5.
