The Life and Death of a High Mass Star

Up to this point, we've concentrated on the life of a star like the sun. In truth, everything that we have discussed (up to the planetary nebula phase) applies equally well to a high-mass star. It has already been mentioned that stars of significantly lower mass than our sun enter the main sequence and stay there not for millions or billions of years, but much longer. Stars of significantly greater mass than the sun (somewhere between 5 and 10 solar masses) have a very different destiny.
