Armellini

1989 BG. Discovered 1989 Jan. 29 at the Osservatorio San Vittore at Bologna.

Named in memory of Giuseppe Armellini (18871958), professor of astronomy at the University of Rome and director of the astronomical observatory there. Principally interested in celestial mechanics and classical astronomy and astrophysics, he observed and measured positions of double stars and minor planets. He is also known for his textbooks Trattato di Astronomia Siderale, I Fondamenti ScientiSci dell'Astronomia and I Fondamenti ScientiSci dell'Astrofisica. (M 27332)
