Named in honor of Peter Brosche (1936- ), astronomer at Heidelberg and Bonn. He has developed the determination of systematic differences into orthogonal functions, participated in the foundation of absolute radio interferometry and investigated the history of the Seeberg Observatory and its scientific founder
