Chuvaev

1974 SUi. Discovered 1974 Sept. 19 by L. I. Chernykh at Nauchnyj.

Named in memory of Konstantin Konstantinovich Chuvaev (1917-1994), astrophysicist and staff member of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory from 1947. He investigated nocturnal airglow, variable stars and active galaxies. One of the first observers at the 2.6-m Shajn telescope, Chuvaev was a pioneer in the use of electronic imaging with this telescope. (M 27125)
