Odin

Named after the first and mightiest god in Norse mythology, who is the god of battle and victory, but also of wisdom and poetry. He rules the world from his home in Asgaard, where he gathers all the heroes who fell in battle to the great hall of Valhal { see planet (1260)}, where they enjoy feasting and fighting until Ragnarok, the end of the world. (M 22500)

The Germanic form of Odin is Wodan {see planet (2155)}.
