1988 JF. Discovered 1988 May 14 by W. Landgraf at La Silla.

Named in honor of Hans-Heinrich Voigt {1921- }, known for his work on radiative transfer and stellar atmospheres, as well as for his studies of Cp, Ap and magnetic stars. An outstanding teacher, he has been a great inspiration to the discoverer. Voigt served as director of the Gottingen Observatory from 1975 to 1983 and as presidents of the Gottingen Academy of Sciences and IAU Commissions 38 and 46. (M 16446)
