Named in honor of Steven Weinberg, elementary-particle physicist and recipient of the 1979 Nobel Prize for Physics. Weinberg is considered one of the world's most creative scientists. He is also well known for his writings about science. In his latest book, Dreams of a Final Theory, he discusses quantum mechanics, beautiful theories, the weakness of philosophy and the honor of accepting a world without God. (M 24766)
