Named in honor of the great Czechoslovak longdistance runner, Emil Zatopek (1922- ). In a twelve-year career he set eighteen world records and won five Olympic medals: silver in 1948 and gold in 1952 at 5000 m, gold in 1948 and 1952 at 10 000 m and gold in the 1952 marathon. The name also honors his wife Dana (1922- ), who won Olympic gold for the javelin in 1952. (M 27735)
