Mars

Mars is a planet trait Ihe size of Earth. In some ways, Mare resembles Earth. It has ice caps at its North and South Poles, and some of its surface was shaped long ago by running water and streams. A day on Mars is also very different from Earth. J takes Mars 687 Earth days to circle the Sun. The air on Mare is too thin for human beings to breathe. The rivets that once crossed Mare have dried up. leaving a planet that is covered with deserts and ice caps. During the day, the temperature can be comfortable at 72 degrees Fahrenheit, but at night, it can drop to about 200 degrees below zero! Mars looks red to us because its surface soil is rich in minerals that are like rust. The sky around Mare is pink from the rusty dust that floats in the atmosphere. There are huge wind storms on Mare. Mare has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. It also has huge mountains and deep canyons. Mons Olympus, a grant volcano, is three times higher than Mt. Everest. Robots from the Viking spaceship tested the air and soil of Mars for signs of life. These studies found no trace of life as we know it.
