Pressure Suit Indoctrination: As a way of introducing Apollo pressure garments, the group were given an indoctrination on the Block II pressure garment by representatives of the Crew Systems Division through a programme of briefings and demonstrations. These included:

• Briefing on the suit design and construction.

• Demonstrations of suit donning and doffing.

• Demonstrations of mobility at 3.5 psi differential pressure.

• Briefings on miscellaneous crew equipment with demonstrations as required.

• Experience of suit donning, mobility and doffing.

During later phases of training, in mission support back-up roles as well as flight crew assignments, the astronauts would wear (training) pressure garments to become familiar with its operation in different phases of the mission (5 December 1966).
