Cosmic Distances

The vastness of the universe can only be represented with a logarithmic scale. On the chart below, the first division represents 6,200 miles (10,000 km). Each further division marks a 10X increase in scale on the previous one (not all divisions are labeled).

is nothing beyond the universe for it to border—but because space and time can be warped by gravity, the universe might "curve" in strange ways, perhaps even folding back on itself in places.
