Haystacks Monet

GRAINSTACK AT SUNSET NEAR GIVERNY In this painting, the French artist Claude Monet (1840-1926) captures the faint, reddened sunlight and long shadows at the end of the day. In both the Grainstack and Rouen Cathedral paintings he portrayed the same object from dawn to dusk, and from summer to winter, to describe the subtle effects of changing light and shadow.
