COSMIC SYNCHROMY In this painting, the American artist Morgan Russell (1886-1953) develops the theme found in Robert Delaunay's (1885-1941) portrayal of the Sun and Moon (see frontispiece to Chap. 3), extending arcs of pure color into space. They seem to resonate throughout the Universe like myriads of cosmic rainbows or countless Suns.
